{"id":1210,"date":"2014-05-14T19:36:29","date_gmt":"2014-05-14T06:36:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.drivingtests.co.nz\/resources\/?page_id=1210"},"modified":"2015-01-14T13:43:43","modified_gmt":"2015-01-14T00:43:43","slug":"10-turning-left-off-a-road","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.drivingtests.co.nz\/resources\/10-turning-left-off-a-road\/","title":{"rendered":"10: Turning left off a road"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The aim of this lesson is to legally and safely turn left from a road into another road.<\/p>\n<p>You will need to be driving in a 50-60kph zone on a two-way road with intersections to the left and right controlled by Stop and\/or Give Way signs.<\/p>\n<h2>Driver actions<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Check all mirrors and blind spots<\/li>\n<li>Indicate left for at least three seconds before starting to turn<\/li>\n<li>Check the intersection for hazards<\/li>\n<li>Slow the car down for the turn using the appropriate gears and brake if necessary<\/li>\n<li>Keep the car in the correct position throughout the turn (no less than 1 metre and no more than 2 metres from the kerb)<\/li>\n<li>Give way to pedestrians already on the road or crossing, and other vehicles if required<\/li>\n<li>Drive at an appropriate speed throughout the turn<\/li>\n<li>Once you\u2019ve completed the turn, check your mirrors again<\/li>\n<li>Accelerate to an appropriate speed for the traffic flow<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Perform the tasks at least three times.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.drivingtests.co.nz\/resources\/9-stopping-at-the-kerb\/\">Previous (9)<\/a> | <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drivingtests.co.nz\/resources\/11-driving-straight-ahead-at-a-roundabout\/\">Next (11)<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The aim of this lesson is to legally and safely turn left from a road into another road.
