And, of course, remember that you can always join a motorcycle club, such as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imoc.co.nz\/\">Italian Motorcycle Owner&#8217;s Club<\/a>, where you can go out and meet fellow riders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Facebook<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/Motorcycling-New-Zealand-Inc\/147576731980889\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorcycling New Zealand Inc<\/a>: Facebook page with around 1800 followers that publishes frequent information about motorbike racing in NZ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/65119753776\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Institute of Advanced Motorists NZ<\/a>: The IAM focuses on improving driving. It has over 180 members in its public group. It is focused more towards motorbikes than other types of vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/157677134278628\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Zealand Motorbike Riders<\/a>: A closed group of over 1500 members for asking for help about motorbikes, discussing rebuilds, general news and chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/1603671629863410\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">V-Rod Owners Group<\/a>: A small closed group for owners of Harley Davidson V-Rods<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/NZbobbers1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Bobbers<\/a>: A closed group of over 200 members interested in bobbers (a custom motorbike that has had the front fender removed, the rear fender made smaller, or &#8216;bobbed&#8217;, and superfluous parts removed) in NZ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Buying and selling<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/271793092960622\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bike Sale NZ<\/a>: Open group with over 3000 members to sell motorbikes and motorbike parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/325153330989251\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ&#8217;s Real Harley Buy Sell Swap Group<\/a>: A closed group of around 1300 members that only deals in Harley Davidson and Buell parts and chat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/532281813526223\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Harley Davidson Buy Sell and Swap<\/a>: A public group of over 4500 members that specialises in&nbsp;Harley Davidson bikes and parts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/141941229286165\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorbike For Sale NZ<\/a>: A large public group with over 9000 members for selling motorbikes, scooters and quads, plus parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/529668987106744\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorbike Hustle<\/a>: Over 10500 members in this closed group that is dedicated to buying, selling, swapping and trading motorbikes and motorbike-related items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/671169319575501\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dirt Bike\/Parts for Sale NZ<\/a>: A closed group of over 4500 people interested in buying or selling dirt bikes and related parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/780433705315600\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorbikes Buy Sell &amp; Swap<\/a>: An open group of over 9800 people for buying, selling and swapping motorbikes and related parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/NZMotorcycleSwapmeet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Online Motorcycle Swapmeet (NZ)<\/a>: A public group of over 2600 members for swapping or selling motorbikes and related parts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/289633571184867\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trade It Motorbikes South Island<\/a>: A public groups specialising in bikes and bike parts in the South Island<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Specific models<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a huge number of groups dedicated to specific bikes, but you will need to search because not many are located in NZ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you like a specific style of bike then there are groups for bike styles&nbsp;like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/groups\/204666336241836\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">cafe racers<\/a> &#8211; just search in Facebook as above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Google+<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Look for communities to join if you want to post items, or you can follow a page and at it to your circles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/communities\/103071400947256274609\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Bikers<\/a>: Has just over 50 members.&nbsp;For NZ Motorcycle enthusiasts to share great rides, stories and news. Sharing what we have and enhancing NZ as a premier biking destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/communities\/117319124031313775893\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Motorcycle Cruiser Group<\/a>: Has over 35 members and is for people who ride tourers and cruisers<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/plus.google.com\/communities\/111042308230742351905\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NZ Sport Bike Riders<\/a>: Has over 70 members and is for riders of sport bikes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">LinkedIn<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">LinkedIn is more business-focused, and there&#8217;s nothing specifically for New Zealand, unless you want to follow a specific company. However, there are global groups such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups\/MOTORBIKES-PROFESSIONALS-74076\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorbikes Professionals<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups\/Directors-on-Motorbikes-2974532\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Directors on Motorbikes<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?home=&amp;gid=87974\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Executives on Motorbikes<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will also find groups for specific marques such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?gid=3382011\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Triumph Classic Motorcycles<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups\/Worldwide-Harley-Davidson-Owners-Group-144384\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Worldwide Harley Davidson Owners Group<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?gid=139818\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Motorcycle Industry Professionals<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups\/HONDA-Motorcycle-Owners-Enthusiasts-43445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Honda Motorcycle Owners and Enthusiasts<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Forums<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kiwibiker.co.nz\/forums\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kiwi&nbsp;Biker<\/a>: this is probably the largest forum in NZ for bike talk.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Twitter<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Twitter doesn&#8217;t have groups, but you can follow influential motorcyclists by searching for them by name, or you can search specific hashtags such as <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/search?q=%23scrambler&amp;src=typd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#scrambler<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Whether you&#8217;re learning to ride a motorbike or you&#8217;re a two-wheel veteran, getting involved in a motorcycling community can give you fresh perspective on riding, and help you make friends with similar interests.
