Scooters and motorbikes of 50cc must not use motorways.<\/p>\n<p>Motorbikes cannot use truck-only lanes or the hard shoulder of a motorway, unless it\u2019s a smart motorway and that lane is designated for use.<\/p>\n<h2>Filtering or lane splitting<\/h2>\n<p>Filtering, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.drivingtests.co.nz\/roadcode-questions\/motorbike\/motorbike-specific-questions\/when-in-a-line-of-stopped-or-moving-traf\/\">lane splitting<\/a> is legal.
