A. Behind the right hand wheels of the vehicle in front
B. As far left as you can
C. As close to the centre line as you can
D. In the middle of the lane
Riding in a position behind the right-hand wheels of the vehicle ahead (at the correct following distance), you are more easily seen in the rear-vision mirrors of the vehicle in front and are therefore more likely to be noticed.
This right wheel-track position also allows you to be seen by oncoming vehicles, and for you to see them.
If it's a heavy vehicle with no rear window, ride well back and to one side so that you can see their wing mirrors. If you can see the wing mirrors there's a good chance the driver can see you (although, large vehicles have blind spots, so don't assume this is the case).
