Group training for core off-road driving skills before the practical session with TR Driver Training
The perfect way to level up your off-road driving across various types of terrain, reducing driver risk and minimising environmental impact. This course includes an online core skills component covering the relevant theory, plus one day of intensive instruction out in the field with TR Driver Training's experienced instructors.
What vehicles? Use your own vehicles (utes, LUVs, AWD SUVs), plus TR Driver Training will have capable utes available for demonstration.
Is it customisable? Practical training is customised to your requirements.
How many trainees? Minimum 6 and maximum 8 drivers per session - one group session is $2400. Once you have purchased, we will set everything up for your 6-8 trainees.
Where is it? We arrange land access for you. We have locations nationwide (Whangarei, Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Taupo, Palmerston North, Wellington, Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Ashburton, and Dunedin), and it starts from $250+GST*, or we can come to your premises.
This course has a full day of off-road instruction. The course can be tailored to your specific requirements. If there is something you would like us to focus on or omit, please let us know.
All trainees must attend the same practical session.
Trainees have access to the training materials for 6 months; after the practical course, trainees can recap their knowledge by going through the course again.
Note that if a trainee does not complete the online course, they may not be permitted to attend the practical training and will forfeit their course fee. This is so that we can maximise the time spent in the vehicles.
Unit standards are not included in this course.
It's perfect for:
Trainees must provide their own vehicle and have a minimum class 1 restricted driver licence. There will be some walking on uneven terrain, so trainees must be physically capable.
There are 2 ways to purchase:
How much notice do we need to organise the training? 3 weeks is usually enough, but it does depend on land and trainer availability.
*Land access: we will coordinate with you to secure land access. Please let us know if there are additional facilities required such as portaloos, etc.
