Whether you've just been thrown the keys to an EV, you're thinking about buying an EV, or you've been driving an EV but can't get the claimed range, this course is going to enlighten you and explain exactly how you can get the most out of your electric vehicle, whether it's a battery electric vehicle (BEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), hybrid or fuel cell vehicle. 

Even though your EV might look similar to a car with a petrol or diesel engine, the driving style is not the same, plus you'll need to know how to charge it and look after it.

    Where is the course held? The whole course is completed online. If you would like further practical, in-vehicle training, please call 0800 637 000. Extra charges will apply.

    What vehicles does the course cover? Cars, utes and vans.

    Are any of the modules optional? You can disable the towing module if that is not relevant for your drivers.

    Do you need an EV to do this course? No, it's perfect to use when learning about EVs if you're thinking of purchasing one. 

    What vehicles are used in the course? We use a Hyundai BEV and a Mitsubishi PHEV. These are representative of the majority of EVs on the road.

  • Requirements

    • You will need one course licence per person taking the course - you can't use one licence for multiple operators
    • You will need a computer, smartphone or tablet with internet access to take the theory training
