    Correct. If you want to learn car control when drifting or skidding, this should only be done on a track. Reckless driving is driving without consideration for other road users or yourself. A number of driving practices can be considered reckless driving:

  • Inappropriate speed
  • Driving after drinking or taking drugs
  • Dangerous overtaking
  • Not paying attention to the road (e.g. using a phone, lighting a cigarette)
  • Erratic lane changes

Reckless driving and endangering other road users is a serious traffic offence. It is often punishable by fines and licence suspension. In some cases, if it causes an accident or injury, a prison sentence is mandatory.

A conviction for reckless driving can affect a driver's ability to get insurance and get certain types of work.
