If you have an F endorsement do you need to do the forklift operator’s (OSH) certificate?
Yes. The F endorsement means that you’ve successfully completed a theory and practical test related to driving on the road, and you only have to do this once (as long as you keep renewing the endorsement every time your driver’s licence expires).
However, the operator’s certificate (also called an OSH certificate, forklift licence or forklift ticket) must be renewed every 3 years. This is because the Approved Code of Practice says 3 years, and the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (which is legislation) says you must follow the Code or do it a better way (waiting longer than 3 years wouldn’t be a better way, unless you’re doing something else which is even better).
Do you have to do the operator’s certificate at the same time as the F endorsement?

Do you have to use the same trainer for the operator’s certificate as the F endorsement?
No. You can mix and match, however, some companies might require that you’ve done one or the other within a maximum of 3 months before.

Can you lose your F endorsement?
Yes. When you do the F endorsement, you’ll pay to get it applied to your driver licence. As long as you keep paying to renew the endorsement when you renew your driver licence, you won’t lose it (assuming you don’t lose your licence, or commit any crimes on the forklift while on the road!)
