Road signs videos – New Zealand signs explained

There are three videos in this article with 50 road signs in each to help you learn them for your test.

The first video shows you the following signs:

  • Speed limit 50kph (default urban limit)
  • Compulsory stop
  • Right turning traffic must comply
  • Proceed straight ahead
  • One-way
  • Wrong way
  • Keep left unless passing
  • Pedestrians only
  • Cyclists and pedestrians maintain sides
  • This lane may proceed straight or turn left
  • Keep right
  • No stopping
  • No stopping distance
  • Late night extension
  • Clearway day restrictions
  • No parking in bus stop
  • No parking in shuttle stop on left
  • No parking in emergency vehicle stop on left
  • Parking permitted: 30 minutes

  • Speed limit 100kph (default open road limit)
  • Give way

  • This lane may proceed straight or turn right
  • Bus lane
  • No stopping to the left of this sign

  • Clearway (no stopping) at times prescribed

  • Parking permitted: 30 minutes
  • Goods vehicles restriction
